A LITTLE KITCHEN BACKSTORY

Let’s make something lovely.

The blender photograph offers a useful clue: strawberries, banana, a white yogurt-like ingredient and brown sugar are all visible. This version builds a straightforward smoothie around that combination.

Banana adds natural sweetness and a thick texture, while the strawberries keep the flavor bright. A small spoonful of brown sugar rounds things out without taking over.

THE LITTLE THINGS THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Before the happy first bite.

01

A banana with a few brown spots is sweet and easy to blend.

02

Put liquids into the blender first to help the blades circulate the fruit.

03

Freeze peeled banana chunks ahead for a thicker smoothie, using the same weight.

Save some for later

Cover and refrigerate at 40°F (4°C) or colder for up to 24 hours. Shake or stir before serving; some separation and darkening are normal.
