A LITTLE FLOUR. A LOT OF HEART. Made with love (and a little mess).

THE COOK BEHIND THE CAMERA ROLL

Hi, I’m Mili.
Come on in.

Usually thinking about my next snack.

Welcome to Flour Up! My little corner of the internet for food that makes you happy, recipes that make you curious, and kitchens that occasionally look like a flour bag won.

Where it all started

Three years old. Dinner is pretend.

Long before I could follow a recipe, I had a kitchen of my own. I was three in the photo below, standing on my pink stool and happily cooking at the toy stove.

The ingredients were plastic. The enthusiasm was very real. Looking back, it makes perfect sense that cooking became something I love.

The first kitchen adventures

A little kitchen, a lot of imagination.

My toy kitchen turned up in so many ordinary childhood moments: dressed up, surrounded by pretend food, or just playing at home. There was always something to make.

I love these pictures because nobody was trying to make anything look perfect. They’re simply little moments of having fun.

Room for another cook

Playtime had plenty on the menu.

The kitchen was part of a bigger world of toys, make-believe, and other little cooks. Sometimes there were pans. Sometimes there were toy cars. It all belonged in the same adventure.

That playful side is something I want to keep, even now that the food is real. Trying something new should feel inviting.

The places that shaped me

A few cities. One favorite room.

I grew up in San Diego and Seattle, and I now call the San Francisco Bay Area home. Different places, different chapters—but the kitchen has always been a familiar place to land.

These slightly blurry little snapshots make me smile. Apparently, standing still for the camera wasn’t always a priority.

From playtime to real ingredients

The frosting is real now.

I’ve been cooking since fifth grade. The toy pans gave way to mixing bowls, cake batter, and recipes with actual steps to follow. And yes, a lot more washing up.

I enjoy the hands-on parts: piping a border onto a pink cake, folding a mixture, and watching separate ingredients turn into something I can share. There’s always another small thing to learn.

Why Flour Up! exists

A little confidence, one recipe at a time.

These days, I’m a student at ICL Academy, fitting kitchen adventures around school and everyday life. Flour Up! is where I share that curiosity. There’s room here for a vegetable-packed dinner, a properly fudgy brownie, and a shortcut that makes a busy day easier.

My hope is that something here makes you think, “I could make that.” Grab a bowl, tie your hair back, and come cook with me. We can deal with the flour on the counter later.

BEFORE THE BLOG, THERE WAS…

A whole lot of curiosity.

A few things I believe.

Curiosity over perfection

A wonky cookie is still a cookie. Keep going.
